Our Story

Woodard Orthodontics was established in 1997 by retired Colonel Dr. Thomas Woodard after over 20 years of service in the US Army. Feeling a responsibility to the community where he was raised, he first opened an orthodontic practice in Norfolk, VA, followed by offices in Chesapeake and Suffolk. His goal was to provide outstanding orthodontic care at an affordable cost for those who may not have been previously able to obtain orthodontic treatment. In doing so, he provided countless smiles in an atmosphere of respect and kindness, with a hope to inspire others.

Dr. Monica Woodard is dedicated to carrying on her father’s legacy. She joined the practice in 2005 and is proud to be a second generation orthodontist. Her mission is to create healthy, beautiful smiles to help elevate self-esteem and confidence. She uses advanced concepts and technologies such as 3D scanning, digital treatment simulation, and clear aligners to help patients achieve their goals. Dr. Monica Woodard is committed to providing quality care in a professional, comfortable, and convenient environment.
